Broad Arrow’s First Quail Auction Delivers $97.4 Million and Nine World Records

Broad Arrow’s inaugural auction at The Quail Golf Club delivered $97.4 million in total sales, an 85 percent sell-through rate, and nine world-record results across two days in Carmel, California. The August 13–14 event became the auction house’s highest-grossing Monterey Car Week sale to date.

The result was more than a change of venue. As the official auction partner of The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Broad Arrow moved its Monterey sale onto the grounds of The Quail Golf Club for 2026. More than 1,400 registered bidders filled the naturally lit marquee, giving the company a high-profile new stage for a catalog heavy on modern supercars, blue-chip classics, and limited-production performance cars.

A Ferrari Enzo leads the sale

The top lot was a 2003 Ferrari Enzo that sold for $10,675,000. The Nero D.S. car had already drawn attention before the auction as a Classiche-certified, no-reserve example in an unusually rare black-over-red configuration. Motorious took a closer look at the Enzo and its pre-sale estimate when Broad Arrow announced the headliner.

Second overall was a 2025 Bugatti W16 Mistral at $8,805,000, a world-record auction price for the model. One of just 99 planned examples, the open-top hypercar represents the farewell chapter for Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged W16 engine. A 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 S completed the top three at $4,075,000. It was followed by a 2017 Ferrari F12tdf at $3,635,000 and a 2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport at $3,305,000. The Veyron also established a world-record auction price for its model.

Modern Ferraris keep setting the pace

Ferrari’s strength extended well beyond the Enzo. A 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale A sold for $2,425,000, while several front-engine and mid-engine cars set model records. A 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina brought $1,627,500, a 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista Spider reached $1,545,000, a 2019 Ferrari 812 Superfast sold for $747,500, and a 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello achieved $648,500.

Those results reinforce the market’s appetite for relatively modern, low-production Ferraris—especially cars that combine analog character with limited availability and usable road manners. The Enzo’s eight-figure result may have owned the headline, but the depth of demand across the marque was arguably the more revealing story.

Records stretch beyond Maranello

A 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort sold for $2,865,000, setting a record for an unmodified 959 Komfort. The 2023 Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe brought $2,837,500, the highest auction price recorded for a Hennessey. Even a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa “Rijkspolitie” police car joined the record list, selling for $252,000 and establishing a benchmark for a G-body 911 police car.

Other notable results included a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, a 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra that sold after the auction, and a catalog that mixed established collector-car royalty with modern hypercars. A major step up in Monterey

The $97.4 million total represents a sharp increase from Broad Arrow’s 2025 Monterey performance, when the company reported $57.4 million and eight world records at the Monterey Jet Center. Moving to The Quail Golf Club appears to have paid off immediately. The venue placed Broad Arrow directly inside one of Monterey Car Week’s most exclusive gatherings, while the strong sell-through rate and packed bidder registration suggest collectors embraced the new format. For Broad Arrow, it was not simply a successful debut—it was the company’s biggest Monterey result yet.
