When someone suggests going on a cruise, you might instantly think of repetitive buffets, tacky entertainment and crowded pools. Well, think again, because Virgin Voyages’ luxury cruises are not only kid-free, they’re also tailor-made for those who want to experience a little – or a lot – of luxury while at sea.
Virgin Voyages’ Lady Ships consist of four luxurious vessels, otherwise known as Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, and Brilliant Lady. And with this entire fleet comes the coveted RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, which allows guests to unlock a more exclusive side to sailing.
The top tier of Virgin Voyages’ packages, these spacious suites – which are the work of British designer Tom Dixon – are made to feel like a luxury home, and it’s guaranteed you’ll forget that you’re even on a ship. As well as a sprawling terrace with hand-woven hammocks, all 78 suites have plush European king beds and large marbled bathrooms with peek-a-boo showers and upgraded bath amenities for pampering.
For those sailors really looking to push the boat out, you may want to consider the ‘massive mega rockstar’ suite, a 2147 sq ft space which is set in a prime location on deck 15 and comes with some jaw-dropping extras including a custom bar set up and a music room, which doubles as an extra bedroom. The suite sleeps four, and as well as an expansive terrace with a private hot tub, there’s also a runway outdoor dining table for six, where a staircase helps guests make their way on top for dancing, should they choose to host their own afterparty.
Another option for a group of four is the 950 sq ft fab suite which comes complete with a separate living area and a sofa bed. It also has an extra half bathroom, a peek-a-view outdoor shower, and a champagne table. A slightly smaller option is a posh suite which measures up at 833 sq ft, and nine gorgeous suites, which feature open floor plans with a distinct lounge and bedroom areas and comes in at 570 sq ft. Whichever suite you decide to choose, it’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to leave such a luxurious space, but of course, there’s also plenty to enjoy in and around the ship as a VIP.

Perhaps the most secluded space onboard is Richard’s Rooftop, an invite-only sundeck reserved for Rockstar guests. There’s no doubt that it’s a blissful escape from the hustle and bustle of the public pool, and is a must for those seeking a more private, refined onboard experience.
On Richard’s Rooftop, you’ll find a curated cocktail list as well as a light menu of delicious lunchtime snacks. While you sip on your spritz and enjoy a fresh salmon or teriyaki chicken rice bowl, you can enjoy uninterrupted ocean views from the spacious white beds or sun loungers. You’ll also find multiple hot tubs here too. It’s a great spot to do some sunbathing, read your book, gaze out at the ocean, or simply enjoy a nap. There’s also a happy hour every day, meaning you’ll always have an excuse to be on Richard’s Rooftop.

Somewhere else you’ll find a hot tub on board is the Redemption Spa. If wellness is an important part of your routine while on vacation, then this is the perfect place to spend a morning or an afternoon.
Once again, you’ll forget you’re at sea when you step inside this spacious sanctuary. The Thermal Suite not only includes a mud room and a sauna, but also a salt room, a steam room, heated marble hammam benches and, for those feeling brave enough, a cold plunge pool.
The spa menu features a range of treatments, with the Quartz Massage emerging as a signature indulgence. Mega Rockstar guests are given unlimited access to Redemption Spa for the length of their journey and can show up at any time.

But the word ‘unlimited’ doesn’t just apply to the spa, as Mega Rockstars can also enjoy unlimited drinks at the various bars on the ship, as well as a bottomless in-room mini bar, which is topped up by 12pm every day.
Rockstar guests also have the option to have meals delivered from any of the ship’s restaurants (excluding Gunbae and The Test Kitchen) if they prefer to have privacy when they dine. There are over 20 eateries on board, including Mexican restaurant Pink Agave, Italian hot spot Extra Virgin, and Korean barbecue Gunbae. Literally something for everyone.
Together, all of these perks, along with the smaller details such as a private transfer to the ship and your very own Rockstar agent, creates a voyage that blends the exclusivity of a luxury retreat with the excitement of an immersive experience – the perfect package for travellers who are seeking something truly extraordinary at sea.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your sailor hat and your best air guitar impression, and prepare to be a Rockstar!
