IHG Hotels & Resorts aims to have all six of its Luxury & Lifestyle brands present in Saudi Arabia by 2028, with each brand either already operational or under development. This move underscores the Kingdom’s status as a crucial global growth market for the group and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030.

The company first established a presence in Saudi Arabia in 1975 when InterContinental Riyadh opened. Since then, IHG has developed one of its most extensive global portfolios and project pipelines within the country.

With Saudi Arabia targeting 150 million annual visitors by 2030, IHG is broadening its offerings across Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials, and Suites categories to cater to business, leisure, religious, and domestic travelers.

The Luxury & Lifestyle segment has become a central pillar of IHG’s strategy, fueled by growing consumer appetite for unique, experience-oriented hospitality.

The launch of Kimpton KAFD Riyadh marked the first Kimpton property in the Middle East. IHG continues to grow its footprint with brands such as InterContinental, Six Senses, Regent, Hotel Indigo, and Vignette Collection.

Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea began operations in 2023. Six Senses Amaala is slated for 2026, and Six Senses AlUla for 2027.

Regent Jeddah Corniche, the first Regent hotel in Saudi Arabia and the broader region, is anticipated to open in 2027. Hotel Indigo & Residences Al Khobar is projected to launch in 2028.

IHG noted that this expansion demonstrates robust owner confidence in its brands and commercial systems.

In 2023, the company opened an office in Riyadh to enhance partnerships, boost hotel performance, and aid Saudi Arabia’s long-term tourism development objectives.

Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa & Southwest Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated that Saudi Arabia represents one of the most dynamic hospitality markets globally and is strategically vital for IHG. He emphasized that the company is not merely increasing its presence but is actively shaping the Kingdom’s hospitality future. As traveler preferences shift, he observed a rising demand for premium luxury experiences that offer genuine local flavor. He expressed the goal of introducing every IHG Luxury & Lifestyle brand to Saudi Arabia, collaborating with forward-thinking owners and partners to craft destinations that will set the standard for future travel.

Maher Abou Nasr, Managing Director for Saudi Arabia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, remarked that the company’s expansion in the Kingdom is deliberate, ambitious, and tightly linked to the nation’s future. He noted that Luxury & Lifestyle is increasingly central to this journey, as travelers look for design-driven, culturally immersive, and unforgettable stays. With 48 hotels currently open and 62 more in the pipeline, he conveyed pride in extending a 50-year legacy while generating lasting value for owners, guests, employees, and communities.
