From the Tuscan countryside and the rugged landscapes of West Texas to the wild British coast, luxury fragrance houses are leaning heavily into place, provenance and storytelling for their latest releases. We round up five luxury fragrance stories worth having on the radar.
Vranjes Firenze brings Tuscany to David Jones with Fico Aromatico
Italian home fragrance house Vranjes Firenze, owned by the L’Occitane Group, has launched Fico Aromatico in Australia, marking the first chapter of its new Florentia collection. Inspired by a Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by kitchen gardens and fig trees, the green-fruity home fragrance combines tomato leaf and green mandarin with ripe fig, woods and oakmoss. The Florentia name derives from the Latin origin of Florence, meaning “to flourish”, with the collection celebrating nature, vegetation and landscape as central inspirations.
The storytelling extends to the packaging, which draws on the Florentine tradition of aquatint engraving through botanical motifs, incised lines and tactile paper. Fico Aromatico launched exclusively at David Jones in Australia on 16 August, available in 250ml for $150, 500ml for $230 and 1250ml for $485.
Tom Ford heads west with Ombré Leather Reserve
Tom Ford Beauty, owned by The Estée Lauder Companies, has expanded one of its signature fragrance stories with the launch of Ombré Leather Reserve, a woody leather scent inspired by the vast landscapes of the American West. The fragrance introduces silver juniper captured using ScentTrek technology, alongside cypress essence, pinyon wood, sandalwood and a new deep black leather accord.
“Ombré Leather Reserve is an exploration of West Texas with its vast raw beauty and textured contrasts. The black leather signature has been intensified with a new deep black leather accord. The ScentTrek captures of the pinyon wood and exclusive silver juniper are living impressions of the plants in their entirety. Cedarwood and two facets of sandalwood bring a warmth, adding a strong, magnificent richness to the Ombré Leather story,” perfumer Sonia Constant said.
Presented in a matte-black flacon with platinum-toned accents, Ombré Leather Reserve is available in Australia through Tom Ford Beauty, Mecca, Myer and David Jones, with the 50ml priced at $312 and 100ml at $438.

Jo Malone London takes to the Celtic Sea
Jo Malone London, owned by The Estée Lauder Companies, is heading back to the British coast with Sea Salt & Bergamot, a new fresh woody cologne created by perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui. Positioned alongside the house’s hugely recognisable Wood Sage & Sea Salt, the new fragrance shifts the perspective from the windswept shoreline to the water itself.
Inspired by the Celtic Sea, Sea Salt & Bergamot combines bergamot at the top, sea salt at its heart and driftwood at the base, creating a fresh, mineral interpretation of the British coastline.
Sea Salt & Bergamot Cologne is available in stores and online now at jomalone.com.au, Jo Malone London Boutiques, David Jones, Myer and Mecca from $62 (10ml) to $268 (100ml).

Amouage’s cult Elsewhere makes its global debut
Amouage has introduced Elsewhere, one of the Omani High Perfumery House’s most exclusive international fragrance launches to date. Originally created as Sindbad for the Royal Opera House of Oman’s first original opera, the fragrance was initially released exclusively in Oman, where it quickly gained cult status among fragrance collectors. Now, the same olfactive creation continues its journey internationally under a new name, Elsewhere, taking the story of the legendary Sindbad the Sailor beyond Oman’s shores.
Created by master perfumer Pierre Negrin, Elsewhere is a rich woody, spicy amber fragrance exploring themes of adventure, sanctuary and the enduring pull of home. It opens with a radiant combination of honey, mango, apricot and ginger, before moving into an unexpected heart of black tea, cappuccino and davana. A warm base of tonka bean, vanilla, cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli evokes the comfort of returning home after an extraordinary journey. Part of Amouage’s acclaimed Essences collection, the 30 per cent Essence de Parfum undergoes an intricate ageing process. The fragrance concentrate is infused for six months with Australian sandalwood chips, while the bioethanol is separately infused for six months in handcrafted French oakwood barrels, followed by two weeks of maceration. The process is designed to impart additional depth, refinement and character to the finished fragrance.
Elsewhere is available at just 100 stockists globally and exclusively at Libertine Parfumerie in Australia, priced at $799 for 100ml.

Creed celebrates the staying power of Aventus
While other houses introduce new fragrances, The House of Creed is putting renewed focus on an established icon. More than 15 years after Aventus made its debut, Creed has unveiled a new global campaign, Leave Your Mark, celebrating the fragrance’s longevity and positioning it as an expression of confidence, influence and individuality.
Created using Creed’s Art of Millésime, Aventus is composed with around 40 per cent natural raw materials and combines Calabrian bergamot, lemon and blackcurrant with its signature pineapple accord, pink pepper, birch and patchouli. Creed Aventus 100ml retails for $559 and is available in Australia through Creed, David Jones and Myer.

The bigger fragrance story
Taken together, the latest activity points to a luxury fragrance market increasingly selling more than scent. Vranjes Firenze is transporting consumers to Tuscany, Tom Ford is interpreting West Texas, Jo Malone London is diving into the Celtic Sea and Amouage is turning the voyage of Sindbad into an olfactory narrative. Creed, meanwhile, demonstrates the other side of luxury fragrance strategy: continually reinvesting in an established hero with enough equity to remain relevant more than a decade after launch.
For retailers, these launches highlight the importance of storytelling, scarcity, provenance and distinctive brand worlds in a prestige fragrance category where the experience surrounding the bottle can be almost as important as what is inside it.
