Forbes’ real-time asset data recorded at 0:00 on July 30 (Vietnam time) shows that the 5 richest billionaires in Japan own assets ranging from 5.1 to 66.6 billion USD.

The total assets of this group reached approximately 156.5 billion USD, an increase of 1.1 billion USD, equivalent to about 0.7% compared to the level of 155.4 billion USD recorded on July 28.

Notably, the assets of 4 out of 5 billionaires have increased. SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son alone witnessed a sharp decrease in assets, thereby widening the gap with Japan’s richest man Tadashi Yanai and his family.

Assets of Uniqlo owner increase to 66.6 billion USD

Topping the current ranking is billionaire Tadashi Yanai and his family with assets of 66.6 billion USD. Forbes recorded his assets increasing by 325 million USD per day, equivalent to 0.49%.

Mr. Yanai is currently ranked 29th in the list of the richest people in the world, unchanged from the previous update.

Compared to the 64.9 billion USD recorded on July 28, the asset of the Uniqlo owner has increased by about 1.7 billion USD.

Tadashi Yanai is the founder and head of Fast Retailing, a fashion retail group owning the Uniqlo brand. The group’s business operations are present in many major markets in Asia, Europe and North America.

The increase in assets helps Mr. Yanai continue to consolidate his position as the richest person in Japan, far ahead of the second-ranked person by about 10.5 billion USD.

The assets of the 5 richest billionaires in Japan totaled 156.5 billion USD, of which Tadashi Yanai and his family led with 66.6 billion USD. Chart: AI.

Masayoshi Son loses 3.8 billion USD in a day

Ranked second is billionaire Masayoshi Son with assets of 56.1 billion USD, ranked 34th in the world.

In the latest update, the assets of the founder of SoftBank decreased by 3.8 billion USD, equivalent to 6.35%. This is the sharpest decrease in the top 5 richest people in Japan.

Compared to the figure of 59 billion USD on July 28, Mr. Son’s assets decreased by about 2.9 billion USD. His ranking in the world billionaire ranking also decreased by one place, from 33rd to 34th.

Masayoshi Son’s assets are heavily influenced by SoftBank Group’s stock price fluctuations as well as the value of technology investments that this group holds.

The continued decline in assets has widened the gap between Mr. Son and Tadashi Yanai. In the previous update, the asset gap between the two was only about 5.9 billion USD.

    Keyence founder’s assets increase sharply

Third place belongs to billionaire Takemitsu Takizaki, founder of Keyence, a company that provides sensors and equipment to serve factory automation operations.

Mr. Takizaki’s assets currently reach 22.5 billion USD, an increase of 1.8 billion USD per day, equivalent to 8.66%. This is the highest percentage increase in the group.

Compared to 20.8 billion USD on July 28, his assets increased by about 1.7 billion USD. He also rose from 130th to 117th in the list of the richest people in the world.

The remaining two billionaires increase their assets together

Ranked fourth is Mr. Yasumitsu Shigeta, Chairman of Hikari Tsushin, with assets of 6.2 billion USD.

During the day, his assets increased by 214 million USD, equivalent to 3.6%. Compared to the previous update, Mr. Shigeta’s assets increased by about 300 million USD, and his world ranking improved from 688th to 658th.

Closing the top 5 is billionaire Takao Yasuda with assets of 5.1 billion USD, ranked 818th in the world.

Forbes noted that Mr. Yasuda’s assets increased by 208 million USD in the day, equivalent to 4.25%. Compared to 4.8 billion USD on July 28, the assets of the founder of the Don Quijote retail chain increased by about 300 million USD.

The asset value of billionaires is estimated by Forbes in real time, mainly based on stock price fluctuations, exchange rates and investment value. Therefore, the data may change significantly in a short time and does not accurately reflect the entire actual assets of each individual.
