Just 35 kilometres from Lagos, Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate, by Newmark Hotels & Reserves, offers a slower pace shaped by open space, lakeside living, recreation, and time spent outdoors.

Positioned along the Lekki corridor, the estate has become one of Nigeria’s leading lifestyle destinations, bringing together hospitality, wellness, sport, dining, and residential-style accommodation in a setting far removed from the pace of the city. As Lagos continues to grow as a business and cultural hub, Lakowe Lakes offers something increasingly rare: space to switch off without travelling far.

Set across expansive green landscapes, the estate is built around one of West Africa’s most recognised golf courses. Designed by Robert O’Friel, the 18-hole championship course spans 98 hectares, combining technical play with tropical palms, lakes, and white sand bunkers. For many guests, golf remains one of the estate’s biggest drawcards, attracting both local and international players throughout the year.

But Lakowe Lakes extends well beyond golf. The estate has become a popular destination for couples, families, groups, and corporate travellers looking for a more relaxed style of travel. The atmosphere feels noticeably different from the city – quieter, slower, and closely connected to nature.

Mornings begin with walks beside the lake or early tee-off times, while afternoons shift towards poolside lunches, cycling through the estate, wellness experiences, or time spent on the water.

Accommodation across the estate caters to different styles of travel and lengths of stay. The Balinese-inspired cottages offer a more intimate lakeside setting surrounded by gardens and natural landscapes. Private terraces, outdoor decks, and relaxed interiors create a stay that feels calm, comfortable, and residential.

For families and larger groups, the apartments and villas offer a more spacious alternative. Open-plan lounges, fitted kitchens, multiple bedrooms, and generous entertainment areas make them ideal for longer stays, celebratory weekends, and festive travel. Guests can enjoy the flexibility and privacy of apartment-style accommodation while still having access to the estate’s leisure facilities and dining spaces.

Dining also plays a central role in the Lakowe Lakes experience. Guests can move between different restaurants and social spaces depending on the mood or time of day.

Restaurant on 18 overlooks the golf course and remains one of the estate’s signature dining venues, while Revivo Restaurant and Bar offers a more relaxed poolside setting suited to long lunches and evening cocktails. The Wine Bar provides a quieter setting for drinks and conversation into the evening.Beyond accommodation and dining, Lakowe Lakes places strong focus on recreation and outdoor living. Guests have access to cycling routes, tennis courts, fitness facilities, swimming pools, fishing, pedal boating, pontoon boating, and outdoor cinema experiences. Time outdoors naturally becomes part of the stay, with the estate encouraging a slower and more active way of spending time away from the city.

Families remain central to the Lakowe Lakes experience. Children can move between outdoor play areas, cycling paths, lakeside activities, swimming pools, and seasonal entertainment programmes, while adults balance relaxation with wellness, dining, and sport. This has made the estate especially popular for multi-generational travel and festive getaways.

During the festive season, Lakowe Lakes transforms into a Christmas destination centred around family travel and celebration. Running from 24 to 27 December 2026, the annual Lakowe Christmas experience includes accommodation, all meals, Christmas Eve Carols by Candlelight, Santa’s Enchanted Grotto, Christmas lunch celebrations, Boxing Day festivities, and a dedicated daily children’s programme.

Guests can choose between cottages, apartments, and larger villas depending on the size and style of their stay, making the festive experience equally suited to couples, families, and larger groups travelling together.

What sets Lakowe Lakes apart is the balance between hospitality, recreation, and residential-style living. It combines the convenience of a resort with the atmosphere of a private estate shaped by nature, open space, and an easy pace of life.

Whether visiting for a golf weekend, a family holiday, a corporate retreat, or a festive escape, Lakowe Lakes offers a different side of luxury in Lagos – one centred around comfort, recreation, and time well spent.
