Forbes’ real-time net assets data updated at 11:30 AM on September 23rd (Vietnam time) showed that the total net assets of the 5 richest billionaires in Japan reached about 168.9 billion USD.

Compared to 170.9 billion USD in the previous update, the group’s total net assets decreased by about 2 billion USD.

The main fluctuation came from the change in the value of shares of businesses that billionaires are holding. Among them, SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son recorded the largest net asset decrease in the group.

Masayoshi Son still leads with 75.9 billion USD

Masayoshi Son currently owns a net worth of about 75.9 billion USD, ranking 29th in the list of the richest people in the world.

Compared to 76.8 billion USD in the previous update, Mr. Son’s net worth decreased by about 900 million USD.

Despite the decrease in net assets, Masayoshi Son still maintains the position of the richest person in Japan, with a significant gap compared to the second-ranked person.

Masayoshi Son is the founder and CEO of SoftBank Group. Most of his net assets come from shares in SoftBank and technology investments through the Vision Fund.

SoftBank stock price fluctuations continue to be an important factor affecting the net asset value of the group’s founder.

Second in the list is Tadashi Yanai and his family, owner of the Uniqlo brand, with a net worth of about 59.7 billion USD.

Compared to 60.4 billion USD in the previous update, Mr. Yanai’s net worth decreased by about 700 million USD.

Tadashi Yanai is the founder of Fast Retailing – a fashion retail group owning the Uniqlo brand. Fast Retailing’s stock price directly affects the net worth of his assets and those of his family.

Despite reducing net assets, Mr. Yanai still holds the second position in the list of Japan’s richest people.

Keyence founder owns 23.1 billion USD

In third place is Takemitsu Takizaki, founder of Keyence, with a net worth of about 23.1 billion USD.

Compared to 23.4 billion USD in the previous update, Mr. Takizaki’s net worth decreased by about 300 million USD.

Keyence is a Japanese enterprise operating in the field of sensors, measuring equipment and factory automation. Shares in Keyence account for the majority of Mr. Takizaki’s net assets.

    Bottom group slightly fluctuated

Fourth in the list is Yasumitsu Shigeta, Chairman of Hikari Tsushin, with a net worth of about 6.209 billion USD.

Compared to 6.3 billion USD in the previous update, Mr. Shigeta’s net worth decreased by about 91 million USD.

Hikari Tsushin operates in the field of telecommunications, equipment distribution and related services in Japan.

Closing the list of the 5 richest billionaires in Japan is Takao Yasuda, founder of the Don Quijote retail chain, with a net worth of about 3.982 billion USD.

Compared to the previous level of 4 billion USD, Mr. Yasuda’s net worth decreased by about 18 million USD.

In general, the ranking of the 5 richest billionaires in Japan has not changed compared to the previous update. Net asset fluctuations mainly reflect changes in the stock market and the value of related investments.

Net assets of billionaires are estimated by Forbes in real time, affected by stock price fluctuations, exchange rates and investment value. Therefore, net asset value and ranking can vary from time to time in the market.
