A NEW luxury contrast therapy centre has opened in Somerset, inviting guests to slow down and reconnect through Nordic-inspired rituals.
Elements Contrast, at the Windmill Retreat Estate on the Somerset Levels, combines heat, cold and mindful rest to help “reset both body and mind.”
Inspired by traditional Nordic wellness routines, the centre offers space for recovery, resilience or simple stillness.
An Elements Contrast spokesman said: “Elements Contrast is a place to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself.”
The centre combines luxury with nature, featuring a panoramic sauna overlooking the Somerset Levels, cold plunge pools, relaxation areas and outdoor spaces.

Every part of the space is “intended to support wellbeing and create a calming sanctuary for visitors.”
The spokesman said: “Elements Contrast encourages you to move, pause and unwind at your own pace.
“It is wellness, elevated – where beautiful surroundings, mindful design and the power of contrast come together to create an experience you’ll want to return to time and time again.”
The signature “Contrast Ritual” takes guests through five stages: heat, cool, ground, pause and flow.
Guests start in the infrared or traditional sauna before taking a cold plunge or bucket shower.

Guests then walk across a pebbled grounding area before pausing in a hot tub or quiet space to rest and reflect.
They can repeat the cycle of heat, cool, grounding, pausing and flow as often as they like, a spokesperson for the contrast centre said.

Elements Contrast offers one-hour public and private sessions for up to 10 people.
Public sessions cost £25 or £40 per person, depending on the option chosen, and offer shared use of the centre.
Private hire costs £225 or £350, depending on the option chosen, and gives groups exclusive use of the facilities.
A membership programme is available for people who want regular contrast therapy.

Membership has two tiers: Earth costs £75 a month for four sessions, while Water costs £95 for eight.
Both require a three-month minimum term and include 10 per cent off spa treatments, food and drink, and private hire, plus free hot drinks.
The spokesman said: “Contrast therapy is most powerful when experienced consistently.
“Membership offers a natural way to make it part of your routine – a quiet commitment to feeling well.”
