Nikken Sekkei, a Japanese firm specializing in architecture, engineering, and urban design, has announced receiving several major international awards that recognize its work in architecture, landscape, interior design, and master planning. The company disclosed this information in a recent statement.

Project Recognitions

At the Architizer A+Awards, a project called CHATAI earned a Special Mention in the Architecture + Craft category. This handcrafted pavilion was created by Nikken Sekkei together with Sobokuya. It reinterpreted the traditional Japanese tearoom and street stall, providing visitors at Dubai Design Week with an immersive experience of Japanese culture, craftsmanship, and hospitality.

Trump Tower Dubai, developed by Dar Global, received a Platinum Award in the Architectural Design – Skyscrapers category at the 2026 MUSE Design Awards. The tower rises 350 meters above the city skyline and combines sleek proportions and layered geometry with Japanese simplicity and restraint, according to the firm.

Serenia District at Jumeirah Islands was awarded a Platinum Award in the Architectural Design – Residential category. Developed by Palma Development, this six-tower residential community centers around a landmark clubhouse. It draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of Ireko, creating a harmonious relationship between architecture, landscape, and nature through refined facades, integrated landscapes, water features, and communal spaces designed to encourage connection and community interaction.

Additionally, the Luxury Lifestyle Awards recognized Serenia District at Jumeirah Islands, naming Nikken Sekkei Dubai as Best Luxury Residential Development Architect Visualization & Design in Dubai. The award acknowledged the project’s integration of Japanese design principles with a contextually responsive approach to urban living, combining environmental responsiveness, spatial clarity, and carefully considered experiences tailored to Dubai’s climate and urban character.
