Nobu and leading Egyptian real estate developer SODIC have unveiled plans for the first Nobu Residences in Egypt as part of a major expansion that will establish three luxury lifestyle destinations across the country.

The announcement was made during a special event at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, attended by Nobu founders Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, Chief Executive Officer Trevor Horwell, and SODIC General Manager Ayman Amer.

The partnership will bring Nobu hotels, residences and restaurants to key destinations across Egypt, combining luxury hospitality, branded residential living and the group’s globally recognised dining concept.

The first development, Nobu Hotel and Residences North Coast, will form part of SODIC’s flagship OGAMI project on Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline. The destination will build on the success of the seasonal Nobu restaurant launched in 2025 and will create a fully integrated Nobu lifestyle experience featuring accommodation, residences, dining and wellness facilities.

Designed around the principles of Mediterranean living, the development will offer residents and guests a lifestyle centred on the coastline, culinary experiences and contemporary luxury.

The expansion also includes Nobu New Cairo, which is scheduled to open this summer within the Eastown District New Cairo development. The restaurant will introduce the Nobu experience to the city ahead of the opening of a dedicated Nobu Hotel planned for 2027.

A third destination will be developed in New Zayed, west of Cairo, combining a Nobu Hotel and Residences within one of the city’s emerging luxury districts. The location will provide convenient access to some of Egypt’s most iconic attractions, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Together, the three developments represent one of Nobu’s most significant regional growth initiatives and reinforce Egypt’s importance within the brand’s global expansion strategy.

Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper said: “We’re excited to be bringing Nobu to Egypt in such a meaningful way. The restaurants are the first expressions of a much larger vision, with three Nobu destinations taking shape across the country, from the Mediterranean coastline to New Cairo and West Cairo.

“Egypt has incredible history, culture and energy, and we’re grateful to be working with SODIC to create places where food, design and hospitality come together in a way that feels truly Nobu.”

Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC, added: “Our collaboration with Nobu brings together two brands that share a commitment to quality, elevated experiences and long-term value creation.

“Through OGAMI and our wider developments, we are creating destinations that place Egypt firmly on the map for a new generation of global travellers, investors and homeowners.”

The announcement comes at a time of growing international interest in Egypt’s tourism and real estate sectors, with increasing investment in luxury hospitality developments and major cultural attractions continuing to raise the country’s profile as a global destination.
