Serras Sevilla opened earlier this month as the third hotel under the Serras Collection umbrella and a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Legend Collection.
The property occupies one of the city’s most coveted locations at the foot of the Seville Cathedral, the world’s largest Gothic cathedral and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From this setting, the 43-key hotel provides “an intuitive approach to luxury, expressed through thoughtful details, highly personalised service and doors quietly opened across the city.”
Prior to opening, Serras Sevilla underwent a $50 million renovation that married the historic Casa Álvaro Dávila—a landmark residence commissioned by the Marquis of Villamarta and designed circa 1916 by Sevillian architect Aníbal González—with interiors by Spanish designer Eva Martínez. Preserved architectural features are set against custom furnishings, handcrafted materials and richly layered interiors.
The hotel’s 43 accommodations (38 guestrooms and five suites) offer tall ceilings, and many frame Seville Cathedral. King-size beds are fitted with handcrafted mattresses made from natural materials produced exclusively for Serras Sevilla. Good to know: Rooms are soundproof, so the noise of the historic centre doesn’t make its way inside. Accommodations range from Superior Rooms to the signature suites, including Suite El Marqués (700 square feet), Suite La Giralda and Suite Casa de Dávila (750 square feet each), and The Grand Suite (1,075 square feet)
Dining and wellness
The hotel’s culinary centrepiece is fismuler, marking the restaurant’s first opening in Andalusia. Here, the concept draws inspiration from the produce of Andalusia, allowing ingredients to take centre stage.
At the heart of Casa Álvaro Dávila, the hotel’s historic Andalusian patio has been restored as an intimate courtyard restaurant. Above it, the hotel’s Almagra Rooftop offers the city’s finest uninterrupted views of Seville Cathedral and La Giralda. An intimate guests-only pool, restaurant and cocktail bar share the setting.
On the wellness front, the hotel offers in-room Natura Bissé treatments and a Technogym-equipped fitness space.
Exploring the destination
Situated beside Seville Cathedral and within steps of the Real Alcázar, Plaza Nueva and City Hall, Serras Sevilla places guests at the heart of the city’s cultural and social life. Beyond its celebrated monuments, the surrounding streets reveal independent boutiques, artisan workshops, contemporary galleries and an evolving culinary scene rooted in Andalusian tradition.
The hotel can craft tailored itineraries that connect guests with Seville’s defining landmarks, artisans, traditions and flavours—ranging from private visits to the Cathedral, Casa de Pilatos and the Real Alcázar with specialist historians to personal introductions to some of Seville’s most celebrated artisan houses. Guests may go behind the scenes to learn about the city’s cultural heritage through ceramics at Armando Arts & Crafts, the shawls and mantillas of Juan Foronda and flamenco at Tablao Los Gallos.
