Elon Musk increases by more than 54 billion USD
According to Forbes data recorded at around 9:00 AM on August 9, 2026 (Vietnam time), Elon Musk continues to top the ranking of the richest people in the world with assets of 823.6 billion USD.
Compared to the 769.2 billion USD recorded at around 1:00 AM on August 5, Elon Musk’s assets have increased by 54.4 billion USD, equivalent to about 7.07%.
This increase puts the assets of the world’s richest person far beyond the 800 billion USD mark. This is also the most outstanding increase in the top 5 billionaires group compared to data recorded on August 5.
The gap between Elon Musk and the second-place holder continues to widen. Larry Page currently owns 290.1 billion USD, lower than Elon Musk by 533.5 billion USD.
Thus, Elon Musk’s assets are currently about 2.84 times higher than the second richest person in the world. While at the milestone of August 5, the gap between the two is 461.7 billion USD.
Larry Page drops below $300 billion
Ranked second in the ranking is Larry Page with assets of 290.1 billion USD.
Compared to 307.5 billion USD on August 5, the assets of the co-founder of Google decreased by 17.4 billion USD, equivalent to about 5.66%.
This development caused Larry Page’s assets to return below the 300 billion USD mark after surpassing this mark in the previous record.
Despite the decrease in assets, Larry Page still maintains second place and is more than Jeff Bezos, third, by about 9.5 billion USD.

Jeff Bezos is currently ranked third with assets of 280.6 billion USD. Compared to 284.8 billion USD on August 5, the assets of the Amazon founder decreased by 4.2 billion USD, equivalent to about 1.47%.
Sergey Brin ranked fourth with 267.6 billion USD. His assets decreased by 16 billion USD compared to 283.6 billion USD previously, equivalent to about 5.64%.
The gap between Jeff Bezos and Sergey Brin is currently 13 billion USD, significantly larger than the gap of only 1.2 billion USD at the milestone on August 5.
In fifth place, Michael Dell owns assets of 250.6 billion USD. Compared to the 255 billion USD recorded on August 5, his assets decreased by 4.4 billion USD, equivalent to about 1.73%.
Thus, in the top 5 richest people in the world, Elon Musk is the only person whose assets increased compared to the milestone of August 5. The remaining four people all recorded a decrease.
Notably, Elon Musk’s 54.4 billion USD increase alone is larger than the total declines of Larry Page, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin and Michael Dell.
The total assets of the 5 richest people in the world currently reach about 1,912.5 billion USD, an increase of 12.4 billion USD compared to 1,900.1 billion USD as of August 5.
